Manhattan

South West Bronx

In the past it seemed that the Southwest Bronx represented only two things: the very worst urban decay and the home of the Yankees. While the Yankees remain, much has changed for the better in recent years. Today, like so many other neighborhoods in New York, Mott Haven is experiencing a new chapter, with artists being drawn to the large loft spaces and affordable rents of what some are calling “SoBro”. Meanwhile just over the McCombs Dam Bridge (from Harlem) is “Downtown Bronx” which hosts both retail and residential districts. The Grand Concourse connects most of the area, while numerous subway lines and buses make Manhattan just a short ride away. The Southwest Bronx includes: Downtown Bronx, Concourse, Mott Haven, Hunt’s Point, and Longwood.
